Event Information

The Student’s Concert returns to the Dinas Powys Music Festival, bringing some of the finest young talent from students and alumni from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Due to the continued popularity of this event, the students will be performing on Tuesday evening and at a Thursday matinee in festival week to make sure you don’t miss their talents.

Returning this year is Rachel Goode (soprano) after graduating last summer with distinction in Operatic Performance. Also returning are Sophie Dicks (mezzo soprano) and Huw Ynyr (tenor), who both continue their vocal studies on the Opera Masters course.

Joining us for the first time this year is baritone Jack Bowtell, who graduated from the BMus Vocal Performance course and enrolled on the Operatic Performance Masters course in September. Clarinettist Adam Thomas will also be bringing his musical skills to the table after commencing his clarinet studies under the tuition of Lenny Sayers (Bass Clarinettist of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales), while also hoping to continue studying both saxophone and flute to become a proficient multi-instrumentalist.
